This micrography artwork was created using handwritten text with the inspiring words from Leaflet 1of The White Rose resistance pamphlets.
The leaflets were distributed in nazi Germany to encourage the citizens to resist the fascist regime. Sophie Scholl and her brother Hans were executed by guillotine by the fascist state on February 22, 1943. Allied forces later airdropped copies of their 6th leaflet, The Manifesto of the Students of Munich. Their bravery has inspired for decades. My hope is that this artwork will encourage others to learn about the White Rose and their important place in defeating fascism in Europe in the 20th century.
