I think every girl has wished she were a mermaid at some point. The tale of the little mermaid is a beautiful yet deeply sad story. Inspired by the lyrics from Silent All These Years by Tori Amos, I painted this piece to celebrate the 51st birthday of the ever ephemeral Tori Amos. After posting the work-in-progress on my facebook art page,
a fan gifted me 2 tickets to her concert the next night. It was an amazing concert, and this painting will always be dear to my heart as a reminder to always speak my truth, and never sacrifice my uniqueness for anyone.
